The efforts made this year by the employees and volunteers of SCC members have been nothing short of miracles. So many have championed dedication and passion for their organisations, without necessarily being acknowledged for it. To celebrate #AppreciationDay during Small Charity Week, we asked our members to send in their nominations for colleagues that they believed had achieved the impossible and had rocketed to new heights. Out of the 130 nominations we received, our judging panel had the excruciating task of picking a final 29 to receive an “SCC Star of the Year” award. The winners would receive a star in their name and their nominations to be shown on our social media pages throughout the day. Below is the final list of those brightest stars:
Natasha Barley – Hull Children’s University
Kerry – St Pauls Hostel

But what is appreciation? At SCC we asked ourselves what the word actually meant. It can be overused and undervalued, which is why, for our second year Appreciation Day film, created by Filmmakers for Change, we dedicated it to answering just that. It couldn't have been made possible without the help of our members. Big thanks to:
Josiah Odigie – Lewisham Local
Tracey West – Word Forrest Organisation
Roger Smith – Hounslow Borough Respiratory Support
Simi Soloman – Love Streatham
Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq – Deaf Ethnic Women’s Association
Rosalind Paul – Scene and Heard
Victoria Foster – Dads Unlimited
We want to say an extra special thank you to our sponsors Shaw Trust, without whom, the day would not have been possible.
